Working at the shelter in 2017, I found out about so many fundraisers that support their mission. I somehow stumbled upon Blanco Y Blanco Arts next door, and instantly fell in live with the place.

When I walked in, I had this vision of live music being played amidst the art in the background, but I never knew it would turn into this.

In March of 2018, my friend invited me to an intimate art event held in the back of a vape store, I didn't know what to expect, but nevertheless, I was curious. The $8 admission to get in paid for a canvas and access to paint supplies. I basked in the energy of the talented musicians and artists around me. The Greyt Adventure, one of the bands that played that night, were on the top of my list when planning my current event.

After this experience, I got more connected to bands and venues posting these underground shows, and this fueled my inspiration. By the time I played at a fundraiser with my mom in Blanco Y Blanco in 2018, I was conceiving more and more of this vision in my head.

There is no Felidae without the help of Blanco Y Blanco Arts, and Jeanne Dawson Lalli. For this reason exactly, I told her of my idea for a fundraiser in mid-December, and by January 14th, I was already going to my first marketing meeting to tell the committee of my plan.

I then went on to inform many bands and artists that inspired me, and to my delight, they were all willing to donate their time for the cause. When I got the go-ahead from my advisors at the school, we were in business. It catapulted my life from the next few months in a Felidae Nebulae whirlpool

With all I've been given from this community, I think it's important to give back and provide richness of our culture to the people of South Florida, and provide medical support and loving homes to the animals at APR.
