internship year 1

My first year of Pathways I really wanted to give back to the community. Knowing the small, no-kill shelter we adopted my dog from, I found it as a perfect opportunity to give back to the community.
At Abandoned Pet Rescue, I learned about how tight-knit all the volunteers and animals at the shelter are. I also learned about their dire need for more funding, working in filthy conditions and barely affording the vet care they get once a week.
The experience I received from this internship granted me great community service hours, that met my graduation requirement, looked good on my college application, and, most recently, landed me a paying job as a part-time volunteer at APR!
